profits off domain names?

I was wondering if anybody owned and sold .com name for profit before.
I had a domain but im not sure if it worth anything lol.

A lot of luck is involved. I heard that someone just sold the domain he purchased in 1995 to AAPL, www.iphone.com, back to that year, how the hell did someone come with the idea of buying such a domain?

Domains from famous people aren't worth much. Madonna successfully sued to get the madonna.com domain from someone who had it. These people are called squatters and courts have ruled against them.

My buddy has a site that he just got appraised at around $20,000. Doubt he'll sell it for near that, but he will make some sort of profit on it.

He's worth over $300M now, and still going.

I owned jkrowling.net for a few months until they threatened a lawsuit against me and I gave it up for like $200 bucks. I profited but not much. This was like 8 years ago or some shit. No clue what that site might be worth now.

Also owned carlospena.com when I thought he was going to be a stud but just gave the site up.

i was looking at domains like bonds756.com yesterday just for the heck of it, of course pretty much everything you can think of is taken
